2023 Ex-div & Paydates: VT, VWO, VGK, VEU, VSS, VNQI, VEA, VPL, VXUS, EDV, MGV, MGC, VPU

Apparently, Vanguard likes to keep their ETF ex-dividend and distribution dates a secret until just a couple days before the event.  It has that old mutual fund feel to it—”we’ll give you a quote after-market and allow you to buy or sell our stuff at the end of the day, otherwise go away…”

As a result, the dates below are just guesses, based on previous year’s ex-dividend and distribution dates.   For ex-dividend and pay dates see this  Vanguard link for getting the confirmed dates.

  1. Vance, What is the word on VNQI? It doesn’t seem to be paying dividend anymore. It missed Q1 and now looks like Q2. Your thoughts?

    • Looking at the dividend history I”d be surprised if it didn’t have a June dividend. The dates can vary a lot, but should be in June. It does have a low / non-existent dividend on the first quarter so the skip this year is not surprising.

    • Hi Mark, Good question. In the case of Vanguard the dates are guesses, so they could easily be off by a day or more anyway. In general I expect that ex-div and distribution dates will stay the same but record dates will be a day sooner. I don’t give record dates in any of my posts so I don’t have to deal with it, but as of 5-Sept-17 any currently published record dates will be off by a day.
